T-Shirt: A review of David Hayward’s Naked Pastor Blog

David HaywardHonestly I just surfed onto Naked Pastor about 30 minutes ago so I really only skimmed the content. What grabbed me about this blog wasn’t the posts but the beautiful simplicity Hayward uses to execute his message. This blog cuts all the extraneous crap with a nakedly minimal approach to blogging.

Apparently The Journalist WordPress theme from Lucian Martin provides the backbone for this simplicity. The WordPress version of this theme no longer appears at the lucmar.com as the domain seems to have been hostilely taken over. However this clever fellow has created a blogger port.

feedTo Hayward’s credit he’s not just banking on Martin’s theme to keep things simple but employs some streamlining innovations of his own like slashing his category count to mere 5 tags: thought, art, technology, humour, freebie and skipping over the usual bloat of syndication links in favor of a one icon approach.

David, I like your style and you may see me shamelessly ripping off your ideas and employing them here at Inept as Icing very soon. Until then I’m not quite as naked as you. Maybe I’m just a t-shirt.

I spent a little time looking at the content over there, and I have to say that his content is right up your alley. Seems half of his posts are explanations of what he meant when he wrote his last post…the one where he ranted, perhaps not considering that people would actually read it and react. Something refreshing about that, wouldn’t you say?

And I also gotta say that he had a few things about money that I appreciated. Check out page 2 of his thoughts category.

Lastly, anyone who gets to spell humor with a “u” and doesn’t look like a poseur while doing it (i.e. he’s in Canada where they actually spell it that way) is A-OK in my book.

Thanks for mentioning The Journalist on your review. I just released version 1.1 of the theme 🙂 By the way, there was some problems with my old domain lucmar.com that’s why I moved.

Now I’m on my way to explore nakedpastor blog 😀
