Part of Set List Sundays
Yes, we opened with Heart of Worship. I asked people today to just start out worshiping God instead of having to “warm up.” It was pretty awesome to see people giving themselves to God.
I really love Heart of Worhip. Things were so busy this morning that the pre-service set was just me noodling on the piano, and this is one I noodled. Just the simple truth of it….
I’ve never heard the Shane & Shane version of “It Is Well” – now I’ll have to check it out. 🙂
Love the song “Made Me Glad” — it’s been a while since we’ve done that one, but I never tire of it.
Isn’t it wonderful when people just drop the outside world and worship!!!
We pray for that each Sunday.
Yeah…I think we have to teach the people to come prepared and expectant. “By His Wounds” is a beautiful song.
Yeah, I think starting with “The Heart of Worship,” especially when you say, “Let’s go for it, instead of ‘warming up,’ ” is a great way to set the tone.
Great, my favorite Amazing Grace, wish I had been there to worship with you and your church family
“Made me Glad” is an old favourite of mine… great song. We used to combine it with “One Desire”, another Hillsong lick. Good stuff Billy.
That’s a good idea on how to start a service
I love it when our praise band does that! If we don’t do it the rocks will cry out!
How does your congregation flow with “By His Wounds”? Do they find it pretty singable?
Amanda,
“It is Well” is off of “How Great is Our God” by Passion.
Paul,
yeah, they do. We’ve done it a few times and it gets a lot of radio play. By the 3rd time we sang the verse the congregation was singing acapella.
It’s awesome that your pastor gives you the freedom to start out with a slow song like that. The pastor I was under in Atlanta required me to always start with 3 fast, clapping songs. It was like having my hands tied behind my back because I was not free to follow God’s leading.
