Youth In Love with Jesus

The Setlist Today  for Chase Valley Church

  • King of Majesty – Marty Sampson
  • Yours is the Kingdom – Joel Houston
  • Jesus Paid it All – Alex Nifong, Elvina M. Hall
  • From the Inside Out – Joel Houston
  • Hear Us from Heaven – Jared Andersen

Today was sweet. Not as much energy in the crowd as the last two weeks, but you can’t keep things at a “10” forever – you need some ebb and flow. The cool thing I noticed today came from out teens. Our Jr. High and High School kids hang out for opening music set, when we take offering they leave and go to the youth room for the sermon. Today, a couple teens hung out for offering and sang along with the offering song and then went to youth service. They were so into worshiping Jesus they stuck around for an extra song. That rocks.

That’s cool. I’ve seen a few places that did “…Inside Out.” this week – including us. Think God’s trying to tell us something…?

We engage our students similarly. Awesome stuff man and oddly enough, I rediscovered From the Inside Out this past week too. We didn’t play it anywhere this week at River but I can’t tell you how much I love that song!

It is very encouraging when younger people really worship.

Yes, don’t get caught into the “10” pressure. We plan and lead the best we can but we cannot control people’s engagement. I heard one guy say in regards to discipleship…

It is my job to make sure the pasture is filled with green grass but not to shove grass down the sheep’s throat. The must be hungry and eat. Same goes for worship design/leading.

BTW, Brent and the boys and girls pulled off a 10 type experience while i was in Vietnam. Check it out…

That’s really cool. I think that’s one of the things I love about being at Imagine and being part of the worship team at Powerpoint…it’s amazing to see young people leaving all their teenage awkwardness at the door and just singing and jumping with passion and love for God and all He has done for them.
